Description

Our GREEFIELD high PERFORMANCE synthetic Ultramarine Blue/ Violet (UMB) in high quality, color shade from 461, 462, 463, 563 etc, the color shade from light blue tone change to deep blue tone, violet tone. The Ultramarine Blue/ Violet (UMB) is a pigment based on sodium aluminium sulphosilicates. The sodium content determines the tone of the pigment. UMB is the brightest blue/ violet pigment and has very good colourfastness.

Characteristics:

Due to its excellent UV- and weather-resistant properties Ultramarine Blue/ Violet (UMB) can be used both indoors and outdoors.
Ultramarine Blue/ Violet ( UBM ) pigment is unstable in a strong acidic environment.
In a strong alkaline environment, the sodium ions in the Ultramarine Blue/ Violet (UMB) can be replaced by calcium ions from cement for instance and the blue tint will disappear. It is therefore not advisable to use Ultramarine Blue/ Violet (UMB) in cement-based uses.
Coated Ultramarine Blue/ Violet (UMB) pigments can prevent this exchange of ions; however, protracted mixing in cement applications could damage this coating and result in discolouration
Ultramarine Blue/ Violet (UMB) is used widely as an optical whitener in washing detergents for instance.
Greefield offers a range of Ultramarine Blue/ Violet (UMB) pigments adjusted to the final use of the pigment.The Ultramarine Blue pigment 463 is coated. However, damage through protracted mixing cannot be discounted.

Inorganic paint pigments 563 (violet).

Advantages:

1). Bright-colored exquisite powder;
2). Good weatherability; Lightfastness, heat-resistant and alkali resistant;
3). Strong tinting power, excellent covering ability and fine dispersion;
4). We can supply Ultramarine Blue/ Violet (UMB) with different colour, specifications and packing base on client's request.

Mainly Application:
Synthetic ultramarine blue/ violet, being very cheap, is largely used for wall painting, the printing of paper hangings and calico, etc., and also as a corrective for the yellowish tinge often present in things meant to be white, such as linen, paper, lime products like mineral paint, fresco, plaster, ornaments, etc.
Bluing or "Laundry blue" is a suspension of synthetic ultramarine (or the chemically different prussian blue) that is used for this purpose when washing white clothes, optical whitener in detergents, etc.
It is also often found in make-up such as mascaras or eye shadows.
Large quantities are used in the manufacture of paper, and especially for producing a kind of pale blue writing paper which was popular in Britain, Morocco.
Others synthetic materials like plastic, bitumen, asphalt, rubber, resin, quartz flooring, marking powders, etc.
Paint like oil and water colour, the classic blue "Smurf City" of Morocco, etc.
During World War I, the RAF painted the outer roundels with a color made from Ultramarine Blue. This became BS 108(381C) Aircraft Blue.
It was replaced in the 1960s by a new color made on Phthalocyanine Blue, BS110(381C) Roundel Blue.
